Bacchic
Bacchic is inspired Euripdes' masterpiece of rejection and revenge, The Bacchae, bringing it bang up to date, probing the depths of ecstasy, examining the power of hero worship, hunger for the Divine, celebrity culture, aetheism and the influence this can have on us ordinary
mortals.
Primarily imagination led, this is indeed a rare piece of theatre.
The Stage
If you want to see just the one Bacchae this festival my advice would be to make it this one.
Fringe Review.co.uk
Bacchic is a clever, highly effective interpretation by the company Actors of Dionysus, which brings the ancient story bang up to date, weaving its original components into a modern myth about celebrity and the power of the media.
The Scotsman
... this inventive re-working has an eerie pertinence, and is pulled off with conviction and style.
The British Theatre Guide
... a most unusual and rewarding hour
